What you need to know about ancient civilizations: Ancient civilizations timeline
Engadgestion, in a statement to Engadgets, said the report is based on data provided by researchers from the University of Edinburgh, University of Copenhagen and the University College London.
It said the researchers used an algorithm to extract the best known ancient civilization names from ancient documents dating back to the time of the Greeks, Romans and Egyptians.
It said the name of each civilization is based not on the culture but on the language of the time.
The algorithm was used to select the names from all the available ancient documents, which include all known and extant ancient languages.
Engadgation added that its algorithm does not differentiate between cultures, only between ancient languages and their spoken forms.
It added that the algorithm does find the best names for different types of ancient languages, including some spoken in modern languages such as Greek, Egyptian, Arabic and Hebrew.
Engadget did not identify the researchers, who are affiliated with the University’s Centre for Ancient Languages, as well as the institutions that conducted the research.
It did not say if the researchers were paid by Engadgestion.
The name of the ancient civilization was not available, but the researchers said they did not use it for a reason.
“Our findings suggest that there are at least two ways of naming civilizations in the ancient world, one is based in language, the other on the cultural tradition of the people, according to which the civilization is often called an ‘elite,'” they wrote.
They added that this type of name could be useful for future research in the study of the early history of civilization.
“We believe that it would be a good source of information for scholars studying the evolution of ancient civilizations and of their cultural traditions,” they wrote in the report.
“It could also serve as a reference point for future researchers to determine whether the language is an important factor in the history of civilizations or not.”
